After months of anticipation and teases, Gibson has officially unveiled its Joe Perry "Gold Rush" Les Paul Axcess guitar.
Based on a Les Paul Axcess Standard, it features a '59 neck profile, a single 498T humbucker, a push/pull coil-splitter and a two-point spring tremolo system. At Perry's request, each guitar has been painted in Antique Gold and hand-aged at the Gibson Custom Shop.
"After several decades of playing many different guitars I think this one represents the nearly impossible task of bringing the best of all of them into this new signature model," Perry said in a statement.
The Gibson Joe Perry "Gold Rush" Les Paul Axcess is available now (though Gibson's website says the model is currently out of stock) for $5,499. Only 125 unsigned and 25 signed models will be sold worldwide.
