Few guitars in the last decade have caused as much controversy as PRS' John Mayer Silver Sky guitar.

When first introduced last year, the guitar's bold design instantly made it the hottest topic in the industry, with Mayer citing it as his "vision of what a reboot of the electric guitar should look and feel like."

Many guitarists though, upon playing the... let's call it familiar-looking, guitar extolled its tone, playability and innovation. If you were one of those guitarists, you can now - should the curiosity strike you - get a relic'd version of it.

US retailer The Guitar Sanctuary is offering, for an additional $400 on top of the model's list price, a custom aging job to give the Silver Sky " a more vintage vibe, feel, and tone."

Obviously, it'd be impossible to - unless someone has really put their Silver Sky through  the ringer in the last year or so - find a copy of the guitar with genuine wear and tear, so this instrument would certainly set you apart!

The full package is available from The Guitar Sanctuary for $2,699.
