Anaheim, CA — UK Sound [Booth 15917, Anaheim Convention Center], a manufacturer of high-quality vintage-inspired hardware, announced that it will debut six new products at NAMM 2018: the 176 and 276 FET compressors, and a new line of four products based on the industry-defining 1073 preamp and equalizer. The new hardware significantly expands the company’s offerings of expertly constructed but affordable studio products that capture the classic sounds of yesterday and today.
“A year ago we were first debuting the 1173, our first UK Sound product, right here at NAMM,” says UK Sound CEO Mark Loughman. “Now, with six new additions to our product line, our users will easily be able to build a whole studio rack out of our UK Sound products alone. '76: A FET to remember
The 176 and 276 compressors are UK Sound’s new single and dual-channel FET compressors, making a high-quality version of this studio staple more cost-effective than ever. Featuring the classic operation and sound characteristics of hit-making compressors from the 60s and 70s, its easy to dial in a great sound on any source. Input and output gains and selectable ratios of 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, and 20:1 allow users to deftly tame peaks and fit each audio signal exactly where you want it in the mix, while a face-mounted gain reduction meter shows how hard the unit is working.
The 176 and 276 also feature the beloved hidden “all buttons in” mode that unlocks a unique compressor behavior accessed by depressing
