Steely Dan have announced a nine-show October residency at New York City's Beacon Theatre. During the run, the band will perform some of their classic albums—including 1973's Countdown to Ecstasy, 1976's The Royal Scam, 1977's Aja and 1980's Gaucho—in their entirety.
Along with the New York residency, the group—which features Donald Fagen, guitarist Jon Herington, drummer Keith Carlock, bassist Freddie Washington, keyboardist Jim Beard, three backing vocalists and a four-piece horn section—also announced five additional dates for Richmond, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New York, Baltimore and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Though the group's co-founder and longtime guitarist, Walter Becker, passed away last September, the band's other co-founder—Donald Fagen—vowed to keep the band and its music alive. In addition to these fall shows, the group is set to hit the road with The Doobie Brothers—on The Summer of Living Dangerously tour—this summer.
